Essay about Jack London - Love of Life

Can you call yourself a winner, if you win your "life" as a trophy? Jack London thought this topic. When I read "Love of Life", I was curious about, author knowledge. Rather taking points as easy to tell story adopted to usual readers, Jack London used straight type of style, to tell how it's feels exactly in real life.

Story about gold prospector, who's will to live, making him to move forward. His story, along the book tells us about, what can you do if you put yourself in that place. Specially, it's feels like author is asking you stright, will you bend or you will not bend. It's really hard to express the same as author, because you may never expect yourself in that same story.

Appearance of the wolf making main charater feel as a victim in eyes of reader. As far as the story goes, so long you can see worf will not try to murder this man. By the way, author says that, wolf can't think, as human being, but it can have something like thoughts, maybe instincts. Later we can see that made the final peacefull, it's happens close to the end. I asked myself - is it a real peace? I know that wolf is wainting for it's moment to take a tasty of the man, whatever happens next. Author decided to cut what happend as man and wolf slept, so we never be sure what was after it.

Disappearence of Bill, in the start of the story, marks him as a betrayer. That's what I thought in the first place. Some time later story giving us his bones left. Maybe Jack London want to warn us to never go alone in the dangerous places. Also taking most of the gold, ammo and food with him, made him assailable. So, that's is. That's the end of the Bill's life. You don't want to be as Bill and mostly, you don't want to be as a main charater. Horrors of the places where he was, you don't want to be. Jack London doesn't meant that, death is easier than be still alive, long the horror seeing. It's some thought, that you have to thought yourself alone, because it's how you will decide who you want to be.

Next story is "To Build a Fire". Have you ever faced the indifference of environment you around? I don't mean the community with it's stranges and rules. I asking you about the life as single you around the mouthless nothing. Did you thought that nature itself constructed as an creator of everything and also nature is murder of everything. Most people prefer not to look at the second part, but everybody can imagine it. The main idea of the story is that you must hear and follow that you have been instructed. Most people hardly can follow what have been said them. Looks like at any time anywhere people were the same, they haven't followed simple rules and get themself in trouble. Words that was said for good can save your life, so as the words that have been paid for. It's the nature of humans. Most of us have gone that way, but nobody belived.

Last story in this book is "The Mexican". I can't say much about this story, as it's didn't touched me. Different feelings of people around the little eighteen years old mexican boy, that trying himself make his way to the revolution. One main thing that author handled in whole story was, that this boy did this not to be famous, to make his job for his country, for mexican revolution. He did his job good for good. So we have to take it as own lesson to follow our belifes and go to the end.

This is a good book and I enjoyed reading it. It was more interesting in original than in Russian.
