Meeting with God

In their lives, people have a lot of meetings with each other. These meetings are different, and some bring us joy, others - grief, and many meetings on the road, at work, in various public and other organizations pass imperceptibly by themselves, do not have a special meaning and we quickly forget about them. But it is quite another thing when we raise our eyes to the sky, when we become He, the One whom people call God. Everyone has difficult moments in life, but not everyone can turn to Him. Being fascinated by the worries of their lives, people forget about God, as well as they forget their parents sometimes. By forgetting God and our parents, we are moving away from Him and from Him.

God loves people and reminds them of Himself. All His reminders can happen in different ways. Visiting the church, hearing from believers about God, reading the Bible, meeting with the beautiful in nature and music, disinterested help people are all our meetings with God. Each person has a meeting on earth until his death - a meeting with God. But if after several such meetings with God man refuses him, then God interrupts all connection with him, because. God does not want to burden a person with His meetings, to impose Himself on him. “The Lord is with you, when you are with Him; and if you seek him, He will be found by you; but if you leave Him, He will forsake you.” 15:2).

It’s like a human family when children don’t respect their parents and don’t consider them to be. But they can come to their senses and understand their mistakes. As a result, they should ask parents for forgiveness. God also awaits the forgiveness of those who have given Him back after meeting God. Only by becoming believers and finding repentance before God can people continue to meet with God, meetings that go into the infinity of being with God.

Some believers know that there are special days, that they were in a deep, mindless than God at the time of prayer, they felt the presence of someone next to them, felt with their whole being. And they know it was Him. It was their God. He could not be present himself, but through the angel. But it was still a meeting with Him. But there are other meetings with God. This is what the Bible says: “Mysat pass the sheep at Jofor, his father-in-law, the priest of Madiam. One day he spent a flock far into the desert, and came to the mountain of God Horus. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the flames of fire from the midst of the bone. And he saw that the black bush was burning with fire, but the bush would not burn. Moses said, “I will go and look at this great appearance, which is why the bush will not burn” (Exodus 3:1-3).

Moses met God. By the word “meeted” it is necessary to understand the various communion of God with man through angels, and more often through other people who tell us the Words of God. The first time when the people of Israel were with God, trying to fulfill the Law, meeting with God were very frequent and mostly they happened through the prophets. God was with the Jews whenever they were looking for Him when they needed Him and treated Him with love. God’s love has always been to Israel, but Israel’s love for God has never been. Only this can explain all the failures in the life of the people of Israel.

But the Bible tells us that every person in his life has a meeting with God! And it happens this way: “God speaks once and, if not noticed, another time: in a dream, in a night vision, when a dream finds on people, during a nap on a bed. Then He opens his ear to man and seals His instruction to recite a man from any enterprise and remove pride from him, to take his soul away from the abyss and his life from the defeat of the sword. Or he is admonished by disease on his bed and with the cruel pain in all his bones. 33:14-19)

“Behold, God does all this two, three times with man, to take his soul from the grave and enlighten him with the light of the living” (Job 33:29-30). This is nothing but a person’s encounter with God. God does this two, three times because of the love of people, that they may believe Him and be with Him on earth and in eternity. If this does not happen, God leaves man until the time of God’s judgment. The Bible says, “The Lord will experience all the hearts and knows all the movements of thought. If you seek him, you will find him; and if you leave Him, He will forsake you forever” (1 Para. 28:9). Forever it means for the rest of a person’s life on earth. But there is also a final meeting: “Although you have said that you do not see Him, but judgment before Him, and wait for him” (Job 35:14).

But in this case, God does not cease to love a person and will wait for his conversion to God through faith and repentance. And if a person does not do this, then after the death of the physical (the earthly) will fall on the judgment of God, and this meeting will be the last. A believer who has performed repentance before God with a request to forgive his sins does not come to the judgment of God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is our God, “Truly, truly, I say to you, ‘He who hears my word, and he who believes in the sentestly, has eternal life and does not come to judgment, but he has passed away from death to life.” 5:24). It would seem that if God loves all people, including unbelievers, and therefore not loving Him, then why not let God be with Him in eternity, i.e., have eternal life? But from the experience of people’s lives, it is very difficult to live with a person without love. You can live on the earth, experiencing difficulties and torment, for many years on earth. And many succeed, but it is absolutely impossible to live with a person who does not love you.

Therefore, with God can be in eternity only those who love Him, and these are believers. And if a person believes God and turns to Him with sincere repentance, then God will attentively and with love to delve into every word of him. This is God tells us in his Book of the Bible. Belief in God and repentance before God is the most important thing in the life of every person. From the moment of repentance, a person begins his communication with God, going into infinity of meetings with the One who is Love, gaining Love in himself. The love we have for children, to relatives and friends, acquires its fullness and integrity only when we love God!

Every visit to a person of the Christian Church is also a meeting with God. This also applies to any gathering of believers when they read the Bible together, reasoning and knowing everything God says to it for people. In every meeting of believers there is God. The Lord says in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” God is holy and all the bad cannot be near God. All the bad is destroyed. The words of God, addressed to man in the Bible, call him to holiness, i.e. to separate himself from all the bad for serving God. “Try to have peace with all and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). The acquisition of holiness is the purpose of man’s life; and the main one in this is faith and repentance before God.

Our desire to be with God, rapprochement with Him, is always associated with the need to cleanse all the bad, i.e. from sin. A believer does not commit a conscious sin. But all past sins, as well as the present and future sins, which he can commit, after finding faith and repentance before the Lord, can be purified, only God-Blood of Jesus Christ on the Calvophus Cross. When the first people became with God, and it was the Jews, many of them had not only a need to communicate with God, but also the desire that God would come to earth and save them from their enemies, and also to help find a happy life on Earth. God, through his prophets, promised the Jews to give them a savior.

And that came true. In the image of man two millennia ago, Jesus Christ-Son of God came to earth. Christ, and in Hebrew, the Messiah, translates into Russian by the word “anointed”. The priests, as well as the kings of Israel, before the beginning of their ministry had to undergo a ritual of anointing with oil. Jesus Christ, unlike them, was anointed for serving people by the Spirit of God Himself by the God-Father Heaven. The coming of the Son of God came God’s real encounter with the people of Israel, with all the people on earth. But most Jews rejected God. This great drama of the Jewish people has become a great event in history for all the people of the earth. This is the story of the birth of Christianity in Israel, the story of those Jews who accepted God and helped him to find Him to other peoples of the Earth. This is the story of the New and Last Testament of God with people.

Why did most Jews in Israel reject their God? The answer is one: God did not meet their requirements. They wanted to be with a God who would change everything around, giving them all the blessings without changing themselves. But it is impossible to build a happy life, hoping for a change in the attitude of other people to themselves, without changing their essence, without changing themselves. Therefore, in the end, if everyone hopes to change the people around them, and not themselves, society as a whole will not change. They expected from God what they had to do themselves, that is, to change themselves in relation to other people, in relation to God. And when people do it, God will protect them from all enemies. God always saved the Jews when they tried to be with Him, fulfilling His Word.

God wants people to do His Word, but not as robots do it consciously, without coercion. The source of this is love for God and people. God gave people the right to choose their actions on earth, calling them to repent. With sincere repentance, each person receives a Birth from Above. Faith and repentance are what man must do on Earth. Birth from above, i.e., the acquisition of the Holy Spirit is what God does for man. This is what His Word says to people – the Bible. “Do not be surprised by what I have said to you, ‘You must be born again, if he is not born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:7,3). In the Bible the Lord tells us of His Second Coming to the earth to the people: “Behold, come soon: Blessed is the words of the prophecy of this book.” 22:7).

And this meeting will take place. When the disciples of the Lord asked him when it would be, He pointed out several signs. All of them are in the Bible. Many of them already have a place in our lives. Recent events, such as the emergence of new dangerous diseases on earth: AIDS, the growth of atomic and other types of weapons; the increase in immorality in television programs and films; same-sex marriages and much more, all this tells us that the time of meeting with the Lord is close, although we cannot know for sure. “No one knows the day of that or hour, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32).

The Lord warns us in verse 33: “Look, watch, pray; for you do not know when this time comes.” This day will be terrible for those who have rejected God’s love for them. Those who accepted His love and reciprocated have nothing to fear. In their daily lives, Christians live in hope in everything on the Lord Jesus Christ. We say to Him, You are our love and our hope. And together with the Apostle John: “He, come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev. 22:20). We are waiting for you!
