Description of creating ART BOOK “ TEFLECTIOS”, poetry by Florence Freedman, calligraphy by Erika Wittmann and leather cover and all illustrations by Grigory Gurevich.
My new friend in Jersey City and supporter of my pantomime company, Guta Ferdman, who in 1978, when I moved to exciting and one of the best apartments of that time, beautiful and bright duplex with three bedrooms, lived with her husband Joe. 9’ Jennedy Blvd. She respected me for my artist. Abilities and sometimes visited my sculpture and drawing classes in Studio of Art, founded by Bob Arjeilan in poorcarea on Monticello Ave. Guta always was coming to my pantomime performances and even made some donations.
When her husband padded away, she moved to prestigious society for distinguished orderly people in Media, Pennsilvania, where she invited me to drive in to do my workshops on sculpture, pantomime and drawing.
I was paid by administration and Guts had rights to invite me in a biggest and beautiful restaurant with tasty food! Last time we had close to 10 people at the table. All of them had very reach background and  and endless amount of exciting stories.
I was incredibly impressed with three short poems by one quiet olderly women.
I was so impressed, that asked her to send me more her poems and soon after that, received a package of about 30 more poems.
I selected 20 and was so excited to do illustrations for them, that it became my major plan for full 1992 year. All my time and energy went in to imagination of how to create the best and most original visual material for each of her poems! I was so preoccupied with all that, that many important tasks at home moved away. I shared with Guta and Florence, idea to print all pages of big art book, in smaller version , to print oGes in Union city in orintshop of Al, printer, so he will cut all pages in his shop and I will stitch all papers, creating 300 books I will connect with needles by hand! I even purchase 5 different colors 300 lb deckle age English paper, to make it special!!!
Besides that, I invented another art book, In which cover must be embossed paper print, visible and from a cut window of front cover and all pages are inserted in come form of the pocket! I planned to do 125 editions of this one!
When I finally made first big book with leather embossed cover and with calligraphy written poems by Erika, Futacand Florence were so impressed, that both decided to purchase one for themselves, but I gave as a gift for Florence, 30 books stitched by hands. And Guta received 10 books as well.
One of my relatives, Kira, before she immigrated to the US, worked in Hermitage Museum and when few of original books “REFLECTIONS” were finished, she demonstrated one, to Piotrovsky, director of Museum in Leningrad ( it was still Leningrad at that time). He was so impressed, that immediately suggested to get it and to place it in collection of prints in Library of Hermitage.
Printshop of New York, in which I ordered to do some silk prints of my pen and ink continues line graphic works, held the auction m, when they moved from one location, to a new one and I offered them, to auction my linocut “ADDRESS UNKNOWN”. The night of the auction, they called me and asked, if I can reduce price of my linocut, from $1200,, because one couple liked to purchase my print, but it was forvthem little too expensive. I suggested $850, instead of $1200 and my linocut was immediately sold! I must mentioned, that sold linocut did not have calligraphy written poem, but just print
