A Conversation with a Reincarnation Theorist

Gennady: I once asked a reincarnation theorist what reincarnation gives to a person. He answered: perfection. I asked: How can I know I was someone else? He: From isolated memories: say, you accidentally hit your head against a wall, and start trying to remember: did that happen somewhere in your past life? Gennady: Yes, I hit my head once, but I don't remember anything like that in my past life, and I don't remember anything about that life either. Maybe I need to hit my head a few more times? He: Not everyone gets that, only the gifted.

I realized I wasn't one of those gifted, but I still asked: does that mean a person only has memories of hitting a wall or some other image from their past life, like choking on a cutlet in the past? If I lack the memory of my entire past, and therefore of my past mind, then this speaks of a person's death, yet you insist that a person continues to live. However, why does a person need to die every time to become better? Perhaps it's better to improve while still alive? Then let your god simply extend your life for that purpose. He: Don't engage in excessive philosophy, remember more, maybe you'll remember something, not everyone is given this gift.

Gennady: Then I have one more question for you. Can a person turn into an animal after death: a mosquito or a pig? He: Yes, and why not? Gennady: Say, a man was a professor in life, and then reincarnated as a pig, and now he will achieve greater perfection? He: Perhaps a man will correct his shortcomings while still a pig. Gennady: Will being a pig help him do that? He: I don't want to talk to you, as your examples are rather poor, as a professor can become not only a pig but also another animal, and he can also remain human. Gennady: Thank you very much. I liked your last words, that the professor might not be a pig and still be human. With that, we parted.

Note: JUDGMENT IS INEVITABLE:
Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto man [people] once to die, but after this comes the judgment.
Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart find joy in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes. But know this, that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."
