At night I see dreams
So interesting, and often a puzzle to me.
My dreams-snowflakes are swirling down from the height,
Frost diligently paints patterns for me to see.
And suddenly, a blazing sunset and the sea's gentle breeze,
Everything drowns in the rushing wave and the spray's light.
The faces of people I know flash by with ease,
But you just can't stop this carousel in the night.
It's a shame I can't stay there forever, it seems,
You can't step twice into the same river of life.
I can only keep in my soul those past dreams,
When my whole life was full of hopes, with no strife.
When the trees were so tall, and the world lay ahead,
And now the bright light at the path's end is in view.
How quickly it's passed, like that colorful dream I led,
Where the sun, the palms, the sea, and I loved only you.
Let this colorful dream last forever, I pray.
I know for sure: there was happiness, but it's gone.
You can't get it back, and only at night, I'd say,
My brain starts its kaleidoscope, memory's pawn.
The brighter our life was, the more colors dreams hold,
And the sound of the waves and the New Year tree's scent will blend.
We'll see our friends, parents, children happy, as told.
Let dreams be brighter in the endless weekdays without end.
