Another bull in the pasture
And all your meadow’s green has gone,
You’ll seek a field that treats the eye,
To find a place to build upon.
You leave your flock, you think it’s wise,
With shallow thoughts and prideful pace,
But soon enough, to your surprise,
A newer bull will take your place.
A stronger bull within the field—
It’s how the wheel of life is spun.
The ground you chose to quit and yield
Will soon belong to someone.
If you believe your wife’s too old,
That all her youthful charm has fled,
You seek a story yet untold,
A "finer" body for your bed.
You leave your family behind,
And tell yourself, "I’m free at last,"
But fate is never quite so blind,
And shadows follow from the past.
For in the home you threw away,
Another man will soon arrive.
He’ll take the lead, he’ll choose to stay,
While you just struggle to survive.
You wasted what was once your own,
And now you face the bitter truth:
The seeds of grief that you have sown
Have stolen all your peace and youth.
Do you finally understand
The reason why your soul is blue?
The life you held within your hand
Is now being lived by someone new.
