Middle East gas

Middle East gas (LNG) is primarily bought by Asian nations, with China, India,

Japan, and South Korea leading demand. Qatar, the UAE, and Oman are the dominant

suppliers, supplying approximately two-thirds of India's LNG and a significant

portion of China's imports. Pakistan and Bangladesh also heavily rely on Qatari

LNG.


Top Middle East Natural Gas/LNG Buyers

China: The world's largest crude importer is also a top buyer of Middle Eastern

energy, sourcing about 30% of its LNG from Qatar and the UAE.


India: Imports about two-thirds of its LNG from Qatar, the UAE, and Oman.


Japan: Highly reliant on Middle Eastern energy, including LNG.

South Korea: A major buyer reliant on Middle Eastern energy supplies.

Pakistan: Sources approximately 99% of its LNG imports from Qatar.

Bangladesh: Sources around 70% of its LNG from Qatar. 


Key Regional Suppliers & Export Focus

Qatar: The dominant exporter (70% regional share), with key markets in Asia and

Europe.


Oman & UAE: Second and third-largest LNG exporters in the region. 


The vast majority (around 90%) of crude and a significant portion of LNG exported

from the region flows to Asia.
