Stories of Green Town

My family

Hello. My name is Little Pea. What is your name?
I live in the Green City. Our Green City is not small, it is big.  Everything here is green. Our house is green too and very big. My family lives here. Now I want to tell you about it.
My family is big. This is my Daddy.
"Hello, Daddy!"
"Hi, son!"
My Daddy is a very clever man. He reads many books and tells us many stories. He likes to sleep and to watch football very much. He helps mommy in a home when he does not sleep and does not watch football.
This is my Mommy.
"Hello, dear Mommy!"
"Hi, my dear!"
My Mommy is very kind. I love her very much. She can bake buns. They are so tasty! Mmmmmm, Yummy-yummy!!! I like them very much!!!
I have one brother and one sister. His name is Peter-Pea, and her name is Peggy-Pea. Peter-Pea likes to play football. 
Peggy-Pea likes to ride her little red bicycle. She is a very nice girl, and my brother is a nice boy. We like to play in our green house together.
Now I want to tell you some stories about our neighbours.



STORY I
Mr. Cucumber and a ball

One man lives in our Green City. His name is Mr. Cucumber. He is tall, very tall. His suit is green, very green. Mr. Cucumber has a black hat and green shoes. All the children laugh at him and call him «Mr. Long Stick.» Mr. Cucumber is very good. He never becomes angry and always smiles.
One day Peter-Pea plays football with his friends. Suddenly, he shoots the ball up so high that it falls on a green tree and remains there. Boys shout and shake a green tree, but the ball does not want to come back. Peter-Pea becomes sad.
"Oh, what a pity!"
Ringo Orange Carrot says, 
"Let's call Mr. Long Stick to help!"
They run to the house of Mr. Cucumber.
"Please, Mr. Long Stick, help us! We cannot get a ball."
"Okay, boys, let's go!"
They come to a green tree. Mr. Cucumber is very tall, and he can get the ball very easily.
"Here it is,"  Mr. Cucumber throws the ball.
"Oh, thank you, Mr. Long Stick,"
"Don’t say so! He is not Mr. Long Stick," says Peter-Pea. "Thank you, Mr. Cucumber. You are so kind."
"You are welcome. I am happy to help you."
Since then, all boys call him «Mr. Cucumber» and never laugh at him anymore.    



STORY II
Mr. Onion finds Friends.
           This man always cries. Do you know his name? His name is Mr. Onion. He wears a yellow suit and a white shirt. Mr. Onion is not happy because he never does any good things, and he never says any good words. Mr. Onion does not have a family and lives alone. Nobody loves him and he loves nobody.
Today it is cold, and the sky is not blue. Mr. Onion looks at the sky.
 Big black clouds are in the sky. Mr. Onion is happy.
"Oh, the sky is grey, how good it is," he says.
Birds do not sing songs. It is so quiet.
"You don’t sing, why?" Mr. Onion asks the birds. 
"We don’t sing when it is cold. It is bad when the sky is grey."
"No, it is good, very good, I like it."

Now it is raining. It is raining cats and dogs! *
"Hey, rain, go away! I don’t like you!" Mr. Onion shouts.
But the rain does not listen to him. It is raining all day; it is raining for all night. It is raining for three days. It is raining for three nights.
Oh, look at the house of Mr. Onion! It falls. Poor Mr. Onion! He does not have a house now!
"My little house! Oh, what happened to you?"
Mr. Onion cries more and more.
I see him on the green street.
"Why are you crying, Mr. Onion?"
"I don’t have a house anymore. My dear house! Oh, rain, you are bad, very bad!"
Mr. Onion cries. He is sad, very sad.
  I go home and call my Mommy and Daddy. They call Mr. Cucumber, Mr. Cucumber calls Mr. Potato, Mr. Potato calls Mrs. Tomato, Mrs. Tomato calls Mr. Carrot and Mr. Carrot calls Mrs. Cabbage and all of them help Mr. Onion to build a new house. They work for three days and three nights and build a very nice house for Mr. Onion. Mr. Onion is very happy now.
"Thank you, my dear friends! Now I know I am not alone. I have many friends, and I am very, very happy!" He begins to dance. Since then, he is very kind and never cries more.

STORY III
Mrs. White Cabbage and her dresses

Peter-Pea and Peggy-Pea are swimming in the river. Our river is blue, very blue. They laugh and play together. Mrs. Cabbage lives near the river. She is fat, very fat. She has a nice white dress.
"Hello, Mrs. Cabbage! How are you?"  Peter-Pea and Peggy-Pea ask.
"I am very fine, thank you, my dear children."
"Would you like to swim, Mrs. Cabbage? The water is so warm."
"Oh, the weather is so hot, and I am hot, very hot. I like to swim, but I cannot put my dress off."
"We can help you,"
"Oh, thank you, my dear …"
They help to put her dress off. Oh, my God! They see another white dress. They put it off and see another dress! Oh! How many dresses do you have, Mrs. Cabbage?  One… two… three… four… five…six…seven…eight…nine…ten…eleven...twelve...thirteen…four- teen…fifteen…sixteen…seventeen…eighteen…nineteen…twenty!
You have twenty dresses, Mrs. Cabbage!
Oh! Look at Peter-Pea and Peggy-Pea. They are tired. But look at Mrs. Cabbage! She is not hot now. She is swimming and very happy!
"My dear children!  Please, do not go anywhere; you must help me again to put my dresses on when I stop swimming."
"Again? Oh, no…"




STORY IV
Tommy-Red Tomato is a painter

One day Tommy-Red Tomato paints his house red. He likes red very much. It is a red house for reddish Tommy. Mr. Potato looks at his house:
"Oh, what a nice house you have, Tommy! Please, paint my house too."
"O ’key," says Tommy.
He paints the house of Mr. Potato brown.
"Oh, my house is beautiful, thank you, Tommy," says Mr. Potato.
"You are welcome." 
Miss Carrot comes to Tommy’s house.
"Tommy, please paint my house too."
"What color do you like, Miss Carrot?"
"I like orange."
    Tommy paints her house orange.
"Oh, thank you, Tommy."
"You are welcome, Miss Carrot."
 Mrs. Cabbage looks at the orange house of Miss Carrot.
"Oh, how nice! Please paint my house white, Tommy."
"Okay, Mrs. Cabbage."
   Tommy brings the white paint. He begins to paint. Mrs. Cabbage is big. Her house is big too. The white paint is finished. The house of Mrs. Cabbage is not painted yet. Oh, poor Mrs. Cabbage! She is sad, very sad.       
"Don’t be sad, Mrs. Cabbage. I make your house beautiful," Tommy says.
 He goes and brings the green paint and paints her house green. Now look at the house of Mrs. Cabbage! It is green and white. It is very beautiful! Mrs. Cabbage is happy! Tommy is happy too. He paints all the houses in the Green Town and makes all people happy.   
Now look at Mrs. Cabbage and Tommy. They are so happy.
Mrs. Cabbage sings a song:


I love my house,
It is green and white,
Green and white,
Green and white,

Look at my house,
It is green and white,
Green and white,
Green and white!

Look at Tommy,
He’s a super friend
Super friend,
Super friend!




STORY V
Dirty Mr. Potato

Mr. Potato lives in the big house. His house is under the ground. One day he meets Peggy-Pea.
"Hello, Peggy-Pea!"
"Hi, Mr. Potato! Is it your house, Mr. Potato?"
"Yes, it is."
"You don’t live on the ground, why?"
"It is hot on the ground. I do not like it. I like to live under the ground."
"Oh! Look, you are so dirty!"
"Dirty?"
"Yes, your hands, legs and face are black. You don’t wash them, why?"
"I don’t like to wash. It is bad."
 "But you must wash. It is very good."
"No, no, no! I don’t want to!"
Peggy-Pea becomes sad. She goes away. She meets her friend- a Big White Cloud.
"You are so sad, my good friend little Peggy-Pea, why?"
"Because my friend Mr. Potato does not like to wash. He is dirty. It is very bad."
"Don’t be sad, I help you. Let’s go!"
They come to the house of Mr. Potato. A Big White Cloud becomes big, very big. Now it is raining! And rain washes Mr. Potato!
Look! Now Mr. Potato is clean. He is not dirty!
Mr. Potato looks at himself. He likes himself. He becomes very happy.
"Oh, I am brown! I am beautiful! I become clean! I am not dirty! Thank you, a Big White Cloud! Thank you, Peggy-Pea!"
He smiles, Peggy-Pea and a Big White Cloud also smile.



STORY VI
Mr. Eggplant and sisters Carrots

Sisters Carrots Kelly and Nelly are pretty girls. They have very nice dresses. They live in the green house near the river. One day,  Kelly and Nelly look at their hair. Kelly says,
"Nelly, look, your hair is not green, and now it is yellow!"
Nelly says,
"Oh! Your hair is yellow too!"
Two sisters are sad. They go to the river to drink water. Only water can make their hair green again. They look at the river, but the river is dry. There is not any water in it. They see a big stone which stops the water.
"Who put this stone here?" they ask.
"I put that stone there," says Mr. Eggplant.
"But why? We do not have any water now. Our river is dry, don’t you see?"
"This water is mine, not yours. You can go and take water from another place".
Mr. Eggplant is very bad. He is not kind. He has a purple suit and a green hat on his head.
Sisters Carrots become very sad. They do not know what to do. Then they see a very big ant. It carries a big wooden stick.
"Dear ant, please help us. Please, bring a lot of wooden sticks and put them into the water".
    An ant brings wooden sticks, puts them into the water. Water goes up and then flows over the stone.
"Hurrah!!! We have water, we have water!" Kelly and Nelly shout.
Water flows and flows so far that it covers an Egg-plant’s house. Poor Mr. Eggplant! His house falls. Now he has a lot of water!
            Sisters Carrots drink water, and their hair becomes green and beautiful again.




STORY VII
Ricky Radish becomes brave.

       This story is about my friend, little Ricky Radish. He is a good boy. He wears a red blouse and red pants. His hair is green.
  He is short, fat and very shy. When he says “Hello” to somebody, his face becomes red. Even his ears become red.
       One day, Ricky Radish hears that somebody crying:
"Help! Help!"
He runs out of the house and sees that a little Ferry Red Pepper is in the river, and she shouts:
"Please help! Mom!"
Ricky Radish is afraid of water.
He says to himself: "I must do something; I must help her."               
Ricky Radish runs and jumps into the river. Wow! The water is so cold! He swims so fast! Look at him! He brings little Ferry Red Pepper out of the water. Many people come and see that Ricky Radish helps little Ferry Red Pepper. They all shout:
 "Bravo Ricky Radish! Ricky Radish is a hero!"
Mrs. Cabbage says:
"Oh, Ricky Radish, you are so brave!"
Ricky Radish becomes red. He is so shy! But since then, he becomes brave, and he is not afraid of anything!!!




STORY VIII
Garry Garlic and computer

Garry Garlic is my best friend. This story is about him.
Garry Garlic lives in a big white house. He is so clever. There are so many books in his house. He likes reading books very much.
One day,  his Daddy buys a computer for his birthday, a big grey computer. Garry Garlic is very happy. He doesn’t want to read books anymore. He does not want to play football with his friends. Every time his friends call him to play, Garry Garlic says:
"No, I don’t have time to play with you. I’m playing computer games."
His friends are sad. They know that now Garry’s best friend is the computer. Garry Garlic is now fat, his eyes are sad, and he is not happy.
One day he hears a beautiful song. He thinks:
"Who is singing so nice?"
Then he looks out of the window and sees that Clara Yellow Corn is singing with the birds in the garden near his house. Clara Yellow Corn is a very beautiful girl. She has green eyes and yellow hair. She wears a yellow dress and green shoes. Garry Garlic comes near.
"Hello, Clara," he says.
"Hi Garry,"
"You sing so nice,"
"Oh, thank you. I like singing. It makes me feel happy."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, and what makes you happy?"
"I play computer games. But I am not happy, why?"
"Because a computer does not have any feelings. It’s only a machine. Look at the trees. They are green and they are so beautiful. Look at the birds. They are so small, but they give us so much joy."
Garry Garlic looks at the garden and sees that everything is very beautiful- a small bug on the leaf, green grass, a blue sky.
"I know you have many friends. You should go and play with them. Your friends miss you very much. If you want, I will be your friend too."
Garry smiles.
"Ok, you are right. I need my friends. Everybody needs friends. Thank you for your help. Now I want to be with my friends, let’s play!"
"Let’s play!"   


STORY IX
Mr. Red Chili Pepper and Miss Mimi Red Tomato

Look!  This is Mr. Red Chili Pepper. He has a nice red suit and a green hat on his head. Mr. Red Chili Pepper lives alone. He has a big house. He has a lamp, a bed, chairs, a table, and a jar with the pink flowers in his house. His house is very beautiful. 
One day, Mr. Red Chili Pepper goes out of his house and sees a young Miss Mimi Red Tomato. Mimi is very nice. She has a red dress, red hair, and a nice green hat...Oh my God! Where is her nice green hat? Look, Miss Mimi Red Tomato is sad.
Mr. Red Chili Pepper says:
"Hello, Miss Mimi Red Tomato! Why are you so sad?"
"Hi, Mr. Red Chili Pepper! I am sad because I do not know where my hat is.  I was swimming in the river. Maybe it is there."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, and what should I do without my hat? My hair becomes yellow without my hat!"
"Oh, poor girl! Please, do not cry! Take, please, my hat. Mr. Red   Chili Pepper gives her his hat."
"Oh, thank you very much, Mr. Red Chili Pepper! You are so kind."
Mr. Red Chili Pepper is happy because he can help Miss Mimi Red Tomato.
They become good friends. One day, Mr. Red Chili Pepper becomes brave and offers her to marry him.
Now they have many babies- little ketchups, who are nice, like their Dad and Mom.


STORY X
The color of kindness

This story is about one boy.His name is Paddy Pumpkin. Nobody wants to play with him because he is moody and cannot play with boys and girls. Every time he plays, he breaks their toys. He makes everybody cry. Oh my God! It is very, very bad. Paddy Pumpkin lives alone and does not love anybody.
One day Paddy Pumpkin meets Mr. Zucchini.
Mr. Zucchini asks him:
"Why do you sit here alone and don’t play with other boys?"
Paddy Pumpkin says:
"They don’t want to play with me, and I don’t want to play with them! They say I am a bad boy."
Paddy Pumpkin is so sad.
Mr. Zucchini says:
"Don’t worry, my dear! You are a good boy. You should find the color of kindness. If you find it, you will be happy."
Paddy Pumpkin asks:
"But how can I find it?"
 Mr. Zucchini says:
"It is not difficult! If you do good things and help people, you can find this color. Good luck!"
Paddy Pumpkin is angry. How can he find this color? But he must find it!!!
That very moment he sees a small ant. He asks:
"Hey, ant, do you know how to find the color of kindness?"
An ant says:
"If you help me to carry this heavy stick, I help you."
They carry the stick together. Then the ant says:
"If you want to find it, ask Wind, he knows."
Paddy Pumpkin goes and finds Wind.
"Mr. Wind, Mr. Wind! I want to find the color of kindness. Please help me."
Wind blows and blows:
"Poof Poof Poof!!! I don’t know, maybe clouds know."
 Wind calls clouds in the sky.
Paddy Pumpkin asks:
"Clouds, clouds! How can I find the color of kindness? Please help me."
Clouds come and say:
"We don’t know. Maybe rain knows, ask him."
It is cold. Paddy Pumpkin sees how white clouds become black and rain comes. He cries:
"Mr. Rain, Mr. Rain! I want to find the color of kindness. Please help me."
Rain stops and says:
"I don’t know. Ask the Sun, he knows."
Then the sun comes into the sky.
"You want to see the color of kindness? Look here!"
The sun colors the sky with a beautiful rainbow.
"Do you want to find friends and be happy? You should be kind to all people and then everybody will be like this rainbow- bright and beautiful!!!"
