At the same time, the name Ananias was also perceived as a wishful name, a talisman promising its bearer physical stature and attractiveness, spiritual wealth and righteousness, prosperity and well-being, as it was believed that the Almighty would never abandon a child sent to worthy parents in His mercy.

The name Ananias appeared in the name list in honor of the Holy Apostle Ananias, who was a bishop in the city of Damascus. In religious history, he is known for baptizing the Apostle Paul and dying in terrible agony without renouncing Christ.
