The Last of the Mohican billionaires
To gain power, they all swore and vowed during elections and other public appearances that if people supported them, they would ensure the most honest and fair governance of the country and make all their citizens very rich and prosperous.
But they are all failed again and again; no reforms were implemented or worked for the sake of the country and the people. Yet their personal wealth multiplied at record speed, turning the country's presidents into very rich men within five to six years. On average, presidents in this country held power for five to six years, after which the people ousted them in yet another revolution or coup.
So, the first president fled to Moscow, becoming a very rich man. The second, five years later, fled to Belarus with his family and also became very rich. The third president, seven years later, fled to Spain, also joining the billionaire club.
And so it went, like a bicycle or scooter effortlessly rolling down a smooth road.
Thus, after 100 years, this country has seen 20 presidents and the same number of billionaires appear in the world. And after 1000 years, this country has seen its 200th president and its billionaire.
Finally, after a 1000000 (million) years, the turn came for the average citizen of this country, who also became president, and his family could finally taste all the delights of the billionaire life. True, by that time only a small piece of the country remained – everything had been sold and stolen by previous generations of presidents – and the country had shrunk to the size of Luxembourg or even Monaco, but there was still something to sell in order for the last Kyrgyz to finally become a dollar billionaire.
