Freer every day
The tracks were stolen, that's the deal.
And on a "buzzing" flight, so low,
The planes into the fog go.
The fleet is gone from our sea's side,
And only foreign ships now glide
Into our ports, where once we'd ride.
The wind tears down the wires, high,
The sky pours water from on high.
And winter brings the snow — oh, my!
We don't need schools or hospitals,
They say we're free, and that is all.
Year after year just slips away,
And we get "freer" every day.
Swamps all around and broken roads,
Concrete hedgehogs guard the borders' loads:
No one comes to us, and no foe
Will ever reach us here below.
Bankers grow their GDP in banks,
And hand out loans to the poor ranks.
The fleet is gone from our sea's side,
And only foreign ships now glide
Into our ports, where once we'd ride.
Year after year just slips away,
And we get "freer" every day.
