Mudra of Peace, 6 Gate of Friction
Place your right palm over your heart.
Cover it diagonally with your left hand.
Extend the fingers of both hands in opposite directions and raise the thumbs so that your hands form the shape of a heart.
Feel the tension held within this gesture.
Breathe calmly, filling every cell of your body with the energy of peace.
Remain in this position until the inner tension finds its boundaries and settles into stillness.
When to use it:
- when closeness with another person creates tension,
- when you feel the urge to expand into another person’s space and impose your own vision,
- when differences are experienced as an obstacle to connection,
- when an emotional wave urges you to move closer or push someone away immediately.
How it helps:
- It draws your energy back from the other person’s space into your own body.
- It allows you to hold the tension of differences while preserving the possibility of connection.
= It helps you sense the boundary within which closeness becomes safe for both people.
Signs of calibration:
Your breathing becomes deeper and freer.
The tension stops pushing your body forwards and gathers within your chest.
The need to persuade, draw someone closer or push them away begins to ease.
A sense of your own boundary arises, together with respect for the other person’s space.
What happens to the energy:
The energy that was seeking to expand beyond the boundaries of your own space returns to the heart.
The crossed hands contain the Friction, while the raised thumbs preserve its living tension.
Expansion transforms into the capacity to remain in contact without taking over the other person’s space or losing your own centre.
Mudra formula:
I hold the tension within my heart.
Peace fills every cell of my body and preserves the space in which we can meet.
