Mudra of Wisdom Gate 48, Depth

How to practise:
Hold your hands in front of your upper chest.
Bring the fingertips of both hands together, starting with the little fingers, then bring your wrists together,
forming a “bud” that represents the wisdom of the physical body.
Keep your fingers gently curved and your palms apart, leaving a space between them like a small vessel.
Relax your shoulders, close your eyes, and turn your attention inward, into your cells,
where cosmic wisdom is inscribed, full of light, love, and awareness.
Take several calm breaths, noticing the contact between your fingertips.

When to use:
- When the fear of your own inadequacy arises.
- When you feel the urge to prepare further, gather more knowledge, or urgently find an answer.
- Before a conversation or task that calls for drawing on your experience and sensing what you can share now.

How it helps:
- Gather your attention, allow the question to become clearer, and recognise the depth of experience available within you.
- Find words that reflect what has already matured within.
- In any difficult situation, this mudra allows you to find answers in the depths of your being.

Signs of attunement:
Your breathing becomes steadier.
The contact between your fingertips feels more distinct, and your shoulders relax.
The question takes a definite shape.
A sense arises: “This is what I can say or do now.”

What happens to the energy:
In the contemplative imagery of this mudra, attention descends into the depths of the well.
An open space remains between the palms, ready to hold what is found.
Energy gathers around the question and gradually finds direction — through a word, a gesture, or an action within your capacity.

Mudra formula:
“I turn to my depths. I bring forth what has matured. I share according to my own measure.”
