Streams of One s Own Making

Streams of One's Own Making

Alexandr Piatkov

A tiny kitten, who has barely begun to live, is already trying to dig a small

hole with its paw, and later carefully buries the traces of its vital activity

with its hind legs. How was this passed down to it? If its ancestry traces back

to some ancient amphibian, at what exact stage did the need to dig a hole become

imprinted in its genes? Yet, imprinted it is!

Humans do not merely pass on their genetic information by leaving offspring.

People constantly emit descending streams of their own making—personal whims,

ideas, and self-styled wisdom. These streams influence everyone around them and,

directly or indirectly, reach the youth. In the minds of the younger generation,

these "masterpieces of wisdom" find reflection, and through certain filters, they

penetrate even deeper.

And so it goes until our very death: every word we utter is weighed, pondered,

and reflected. Sometimes, even a fleeting contact leaves a memory that lasts a

lifetime. To some extent, we are all Arina Rodionovnas, destined to radiate our

spiritual wealth into space until the end of our days. However, this is far from

being as harmless as it might seem. It is quite possible that the traces of our

destructive, deceitful thoughts and aggressive emotions are even more durable

than plastic packaging!
