If there were peace...

I imagined what it would be like if there was peace everywhere on earth: no guns fired, no planes bombed, no deadly missiles or military drones flew, and so on?

First of all, of course, people wouldn't die needlessly, that's the main thing...

What would happen next if all this stopped shooting and killing?

Would all the military factories come to a standstill, frozen solid, and their owners would gradually go bankrupt, moving into other peaceful businesses. Their weapons products would become useless, except for shooting air rifles at a shooting range for fun, and for hunters with double-barreled shotguns to shoot a boar for dinner?

All this mass of previously frenzied military products would have rusted in warehouses, training grounds, and military airfields, and would have been forced to be recycled as scrap metal, melted down, and turned into civilian cars, tractors and harvesters, strollers and scooters, phones and gadgets, televisions and sports equipment for weightlifting and track and field, rebar for concrete in residential buildings... in short, God knows where. Aren't there enough good deeds on earth?

And what else would we see?!

We would see the happy eyes of mothers who would no longer send their children to the planet's war zones, who would no longer weep inconsolably at their graves, but would dance at their weddings...

We would see our planet prospering, because everything produced on the planet would be used for peaceful life, for people, for living and healthy people, because the funds freed up from weapons production would go toward improving healthcare, education, culture, sports, the comprehensive upbringing and development of children...

Oh, Lord, a true, real paradise, not an afterlife, would come to earth—take it or leave it!

That's what would happen if eternal peace came to earth!

Do you think it's worth it for us, the peoples of the entire planet, to fight for peace, and will we ever be able to do it? Throw away all the weapons we've accumulated over the centuries, which for centuries have been mercilessly killing us for no reason at all!?

But what we're seeing in many countries now: people taking to the streets—that's the beginning of the people's struggle against war. Don't you see that?
