A well - known musicologist and journalist Elena Uzun will present her remarkable new book "Radu Poklitaru. Free Dance" at the Ionesco National Theatre. In this book, Elena Uzun reviews works of extraordinary artist Radu Poklitaru, an incredible choreographer of Moldavian origin, who currently directs ballet troupe "Kiev modern-ballet" in Ukraine.

This is the first book of musicologist Elena Uzun, where author makes a valiant research on directing experience of a unique choreographer Radu Poklitaru, whose name is firmly related to the notions of innovation and experimentation in the modern ballet and music theater development. Radu Poklitaru represents an artist of the new type, the one who has organically reinterpret inherited cultural upbringing and academic training that he received as a dancer. In his numerous staged works, choreographer demonstrates multilevel understanding of life's drama along with the role of an arts in it, invigorating it with unpredictability of his original search and his urge for development of the new style of meaningful expression through the blending of the arts of ballet, music, and theater.
This book became possible because of many-years successful careers of both choreographer and the writer herself, for Radu Poklitaru's impressive and original contribution to the essence of the contemporary music theatre has been equally researched by Elena uzun with seriousness and originality of her own analytical approach, which is well-known in professional circles and music and performing arts devoted admirers.
"Radu Poklitaru. Free Dance" stands out for its various aspects, that point its readers' attention on choreographer's many-sided talent, as the book unfolds, and I will mention only a few of them, due to the introductory character of this article. The title of the book - "Radu Poklitaru. Free Dance"- clearly points out to the very essence of the choreographer's artistic credo, as well as to the nature of Elena Uzun's followed interpretation on the peculiarities and importance of Poklitaru- ideologist and Poklitaru - innovator on the 21-st century's new ballet formation. The author crowns the book's balanced formal structure that allows its readers to be gradually exposed to the various sides of the choreographer's life and continuing professional career, with two introductory articles of musicologists Elena Mironenko and El'frida Koroleva.

Incredible in substance and capacity analysis of Poklitaru's sixteen ballets pillared by two substantial chapters; Introduction- periodization for Radu Poklitaru's formation as a choreographer; and Closing Chapter- final conclusive Essay summarizing all authors research on eclectic artistic portrayal of Radu Poklitaru. It is necessary to point out here that Elena Uzun was the first author who systematized all periods of Radu Poklitaru's evolution as choreographer and that the author's research on Radu Poklitaru's phenomena depicted in this book was done for the first time in the history of the modern theatre, from this point of view this book acquires its particular significance and role among all existing and future research and bibliography, dedicated to the phenomena of Radu Poklitaru.
I would specially like to mention in this section an eminently-analytical language that "Radu Poklitaru. Free Dance" was written with, for its exuberance and clarity allowed the author successfully to delineate the exact nature of Poklitaru's aesthetic in an incredibly impressive and meaningful way, and literally compels this book's readers to employ their own souls when coming into a acquaintance with its content. The magical and totally enchanting symbolism of an expression and essence in Radu Poklitaru's ballets, in which choreographer mercilessly plunged the world ballet's classical tradition into purifying apocalypse, embodied in Elena Uzun's linguistic creativity with all meaningfulness and inner directness of a thought, acquiring on the book's pages the same underlying plasticity and varying interpretations, as it was presented on stage.
Author literally lives through all works of the choreographer that she analyses, and, from my point of view, plays an vital individual role in the world of Poklitary; Elena Uzun lives through all of Poklitaru's works on her book's pages, inviting us, her readers, to feel and participate in the stories of human decency and disgrace, and to contemplate it by our inner vision. From her book's pages, Elena Uzun tells us, that the world created by Radu Poklitaru and all questions that he raises and transforms in his brilliant and innovative works - it all was created for us, and exemplifies our own lives. This book helps us to perceive ballets of Radu Poklitaru as something quite personal, as our innermost private event. After finishing this superb book, I have concluded, once again, that true arts have always been, and will always be created by people with open hearts and minds, for this is their elevated predestination.
