What is the absolute truth about money?

I don't know what the "relative truth about money" is. And I don't know what the "absolute truth about them" is. But I can answer the question "Why did the sages turn away from money?"

The thing is that "useful" often contradicts "proper". Or in other words, "profitable" contradicts "Dharma". The avatar of "profitable" is "money". Therefore, in order to follow the straight path, "sages", striving for "Dharma", renounce the desire for "money".

The path of "rejecting money while striving for enlightenment, Dharma" is correct only "relatively". In the sense that it could be considered "correct" in past times, understanding that the sages had little strength, the civilizational environment was undeveloped, and therefore the main task of the sages was "to preserve previous knowledge and pass it on". Knowledge, like a thin thread, passed through the layers of generations, and madrecians were its keepers. Now the times are different and the situation has changed. (I will add later)

Already 1000 years ago in the "Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch of Chan Buddhism" (Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch of the Nan Zong Dun Sect, the Supreme Mahayana Maha Prajna Paramita Sutra, performed the Dharma Altar Sutra at Dafan Temple in Shaozhou) there appeared the idea that "no deeds (external forms) will pollute the consciousness if a person is close to the Foundation of consciousness." Therefore, the Path of "non-renunciation of any deeds, including women (love, family, children) and money (deeds, projects, worldly life)" is "absolutely" correct.

The Path is "absolutely" correct when you "act in the center of the vortex of the world, and your spirit hangs motionless in meditation." This is what the Sixth Patriarch says. This is a very complex, very difficult, but extremely fulfilling path. The time for this Path has come right now - all the necessary knowledge has been accumulated by humanity, the civilizational environment has matured.

Mohamed Riyas:
In what sense you mean the civilizational environment has matured? In actuality I see the contradiction. The civilization acts merciless towards money and other material things.

Alexander Klein:
It is ripe in the sense that we can communicate with you right now - across continents and distances, languages ;;and lifestyles. In the sense that knowledge, texts, wisdom accumulated over millennia are available to everyone, you just need to reach out. People have much more food, health and other benefits of civilization than they had even 100 years ago, not to mention what they had 500, 1000, 2000 and more years ago.

In this sense, "all civilizational conditions have matured" so that the main goal of the sages was not "preservation of accumulated knowledge and its further transmission", but "application of this knowledge for building a correct, true life."

Я не знаю, что такое "относительная правда о деньгах". И не знаю, что такое "абсолютная правда о них". Но ответ на вопрос "Почему мудрецы отвернулись от денег?" дать могу. Дело в том, что "полезное" часто противоречит "должному". Или другими словами, "выгодное" противоречит "Дхарме". Аватаром "выгодного" являются "деньги". Поэтому, чтобы идти прямым путем, "мудрецы", стремясь к "Дхарме", отказываются от стремления к "деньгам". Путь "отказа от денег при стремлении к просветлению, Дхарме" является правильным лишь "относительно". В том смысле, что его можно было считать "правильным" в прошлые времена, понимая, что сил у мудрецов мало, общественная среда была неразвитой, и поэтому главной задачей мудрецов было "сохранить предыдущее знание и передать его дальше". Знание, как тонкая ниточка, проходило через пласты поколений, и мудрецы были его хранителями. Сейчас время другое и ситуация изменилась.

Еще 1000 лет назад в "Сутре помоста Шестого патриарха" появилась мысль о том, что "никакие дела (внешние формы) не загрязнят сознание, если человек находится близко к Основе сознания". Поэтому правильным "абсолютно" является Путь "не-отказа от любых дел, включая женщин (любовь, семья, дети) и деньги (дела, проекты, мирская жизнь)". Правильным "абсолютно" является Путь, когда ты "действуешь в центре вихря мира, а твой дух неподвижно висит в медитации". —

— Об этом говорит Шестой патриарх в Сутре (§§ 17, 18). Это очень сложный, очень трудный, но предельно полноценный путь. Время для этого Пути пришло именно сейчас — все нужное знание человечеством накоплено, цивилизационная среда созрела.

В каком смысле вы имеете в виду, что цивилизационная среда созрела? На самом деле я вижу противоречие. Цивилизация беспощадна к деньгам и другим материальным вещам.

Александр Клейн:
Созрела в том смысле, что мы можем общаться с тобой прямо сейчас, - через континенты и расстояния, языки и образ жизни. В том, что знания, тексты, накопленная тысячелетиями мудрость, доступна каждому, надо лишь  протянуть руку. Люди имеют гораздо больше еды, здоровья и других благ цивилизации, чем это было даже 100 лет назад, не говоря уже от том, что было 500, 1000, 2000 и более лет назад.

В этом смысле "все цивилизационные условия созрели" для того, чтобы основной целью мудрецов было не "сохранение накопленного знания и передача его дальше", а "применение этого знания для построения правильной, истинной жизни".
